One year ago, Swiss international Air Lines (SWISS) received the first Bombardier CS100 equipped with ZIM seats. On 14 June 2017, the brand new CS300 joined the fleet of SWISS. The CS300 is also equipped with seats designed and manufactured by ZIM FLUGSITZ in Markdorf.
The first CS300 came with a special print designed by the artist Mathias Forbach also known as Fichtre. SWISS named the aircraft “Flugzeug der Westschweizer” – “Aircraft of the western Switzerland’s”. SWISS is dedicating the first CS300 to Swiss Romandy and its citizens.
A competition was held during which the people of western Switzerland described what that part of Switzerland signifies to them. The artwork is a testament to the cultural diversity and the international appeal of western Switzerland and its residents.
The Swiss artist shows on the nearly 74 meter long “canvas” the pride of the region, its nature and its inhabitants.
There was a second part of the competition about the Swiss Romand Heroes. SWISS chose 49 personal and emotional stories and their heroes’ names are each printed on one of the seats of the new aircraft.
The CS300 from Bombardier sets new standards in terms of efficiency, environmental compatibility, noise emissions and comfort. The aircraft is equipped with 145 seats of the German based manufacturer ZIM FLUGSITZ.
ZIM developed the seats especially for SWISS and offers with a new design of a one-arm meal table more passenger comfort. SWISS ordered 4.000 seats for in total 30 Bombardier aircrafts. For the next 12 month the flying artwork will be visible throughout Europe.
